Also.

He also targeted the US Secretary of Homeland Security and Barack Obama's Director of National Intelligence from his semi-detached council house in Coalville.

Does Melbourne Australia Have an African Gang Problem? (2018) "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

The Australian government has left citizens defenceless through it's policy of unarmed self defence. It is illegal in Australia to purchase or posses anything specifically intended for self defence or defence of one's family, this includes no capsicum sprays, no tasers, no guns, no anything! This is backed by the UN Human Rights committee! I see this as a crime against the people, the government is putting our lives at risk in a society where home invasions & attacks on the streets appears to be on the increase. The Australian government appears to put the welfare of criminals far above the welfare of the common people.

The GFC only temporarily interrupted the trend towards rising inequality "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

The UK Guardian Editorial ran a sub-header yesterday (January 21, 2018) Democracies will fall under the spell of populists like Donald Trump if they fail to deal with the fallout of globalisation?, which I thought reflected the misunderstandings that so-called progressive have about globalisation and its impacts on the capacities of the sovereign state. The UK Guardian Editorial was responding to the release of the latest Oxfam report (released January 16, 2018) An Economy for the 99%: Its time to build a human economy that benefits everyone, not just the privileged few timed to coincide with the gathering of billionaires and corporate executives at Davos this week. The Oxfam report reveals further staggering shifts in inequality across the globe, that the GFC barely interrupted. A major shift in political sentiment on the Left is needed to arrest these trends before they break out in destructive social instability.

Oxfam Report

The Oxfam Report (released January 16, 2018) An Economy for the 99%: Its time to build a human economy that benefits everyone, not just the privileged few.

The results are staggering really in their indecency.

While the rest of us have been sedated by mass consumption and Internet shopping, the top-end-of-town have been firmly focused on extracting as much of the pie for themselves as they can (at our expense).

We have acquires lots of fairly useless plastic bits and pieces and massive debts, they have accumulated massive gains in their wealth holdings.

Oxfam conclude:

1. Since 2015, the richest 1% has owned more wealth than the rest of the planet.

2. Eight men now own the same amount of wealth as the poorest half of the world.

3. The incomes of the poorest 10% of people increased by less than $3 a year between 1988 and 2011, while the incomes of the richest 1% increased 182 times as much.

4. The very design of our economies and the principles of our economics have taken us to this extreme, unsustainable and unjust point.

Oxfam argue that despite world leaders signing up to a global goal to reduce inequality, the gap between the rich and the rest has widened.

What the corporate leaders say should be disregarded by progressives politicians. They clearly do not operate in the interests of society...

The Gang In Blue Is The Real Menace In Melbourne "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

As politicians and media play racialised politics with the lives of Melburnians, Michael Brull urges people not to forget the history of the police in how we actually got here.

Ever since the Victorian Liberals started ramping up the demonisation of African gangs in Melbourne with the Federal Racist in Chief Peter Dutton quickly joining in the response of progressives has been critical, but partly defensive.

The defensiveness has come in the form of conceding that yes, people of African descent are over-represented in some sorts of crimes in Victoria. However, the general crime rate is falling, and the over-representation is more or less accounted for by socio-economic disadvantage.

So take the standard statistic. People of Sudanese and South Sudanese background in Victoria make up 0.14 percent of the population, but are about 1.5 percent of the criminal population. It is concluded from this that Sudanese and South Sudanese immigrants are about 10 times more likely to commit various crimes.

A file image of Victorian police.A file image of Victorian police.

Similar conclusions could be drawn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. They make up some 2 percent of Australians over 18, but 27 percent of people in prison. In this case too, part of the over-representation can be attributed to socio-economic disadvantage. But the crime statistics themselves arent neutral. They are reflective of oppressive and discriminatory policing habits.

When people see that Sudanese people are over-represented in crime statistics, a red flag should go up that another racial minority is being heavily policed. We cannot know the extent to which the statistics are influenced by the nature of how police interact with Sudanese immigrants. But it is irre...

Canada has paid out nearly $220 million under NAFTAs ISDS, think tank reveals "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

22 January 2018: A report published by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) last week has revealed that Canada has paid out nearly $220 million in losses under the NAFTA investor-state dispute settlement mechanism (ISDS), and $95 million in legal fees defending against ISDS claims.

CPPA is calling on Canadas trade negotiators to agree to the Trump administrations proposal for an ISDS opt-in option in a renegotiated NAFTA. They argue that ISDS not only imposes huge costs but also can lead to regulatory chill, where governments shy away from public policy decisions due to fears that they will be sued by foreign investors.

There have been 41 ISDS claims made against Canada, 23 ISDS claims made against Mexico and 21 made against the US. Canada has been sued 15 times since 2010. In the report, CCPA suggests that the Canadian governments commitment to ISDS and compliance with the scheme encourages investor-state claims against itself.

Canadas chief negotiator, Steve Verheul, has said that if an ISDS opt-in clause was added to NAFTA then all three parties to the deal would opt out. Negotiators are meeting in Montreal this week for the sixth round of talks.

Womens marches across the United States fight loss of rights "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Contributed from New South Wales

Huge numbers of women took part in street marches over the weekend and this signaled a new rise in the movement for equality. Wearing pink (Pussy) hats, they took to the streets, to show they were prepared to fight against that threaten to set back advances women have achieved over recent times. Estimates of the number have ranged to the hundreds of thousands claimed by the establishment, to the millions insisted by others.

Video from ABC News (US)

Most important is that the number of Americans who are angry about what is going on cannot be ignored.
Women took to the streets in many American cities and more than 600 locations. Support rallies took place across Europe, South America Asia and Africa and in Australia as well.
Gender equality is in the centre stage, because the Trump administration is moving to increase inequality. This also relates to Trumps own public performance and released tapes about his ugly attitude towards women. There is no doubt that the recent campaign outing sexual predators (#Me Too) in the workplace and has netted some high profile identities, has helped to put womens rights at the political centre. It was also fueled by the overall reaction against the Trump political direction that is hurting working Americans, the marginalised and poor. A political direction that is fanning race hate and is intended to divide ordinary Americans and favour the wealthiest Americans at the top. These issues were raised over the weekend. An important development is that the womens marches were not called in the form of opposition against Trump, but as an expression of what participants want to achieve. Rather than calling on political leaders to turn away from what they are doing, the emphasis was on what those who want to bring about change are going to do.Considerable attention has been put on the mid-term elections for the House of Representatives coming up this year, where there is a gearing up for a host of woman candidates to stand. A formidable number of celebrities attended the marches. Some of them were speakers. The electoral strategy is not all. The key is motivating ongoing activism and organising at the grass roots.

Conservation groups slam govt nature plan "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Australia could soon have the worst mammal extinction rate in the world because of the federal governments nature strategy, conservation groups warn.

The draft strategy for 2018-2030, reviewed by federal and state governments, has been slammed by conservation groups who claim it includes a lack of action to protect Australias biodiversity.

This lack of any real action will all but guarantee Australia continues to have the worst mammal extinction rate on the planet, Wilderness Society national nature campaign manager Suzanne Milthorpe said in a statement on Sunday.

The document supports a national approach to conserve nature and includes goals to reduce threats to protected areas and improve the conservation management of Australias landscapes and seascapes.

The strategy suggests imposing an action inventory to show how each government is tracking in reaching its targets but offers no other plan outlining how the goals will be reached.

The Places You Love alliance, which features several Australian conservation groups, said the plan was a global embarrassment which lacked measurable targets and concrete commitments.

The government has served up simplistic and unmeasurable dot points that are an embarrassment on the global stage and fall far short of the international commitments to conserve biodiversity we have made at the United Nations, Humane Society International Australia head of programs Evan Quartermain said.

Other groups feared the lack of action would result in dying wildlife, environmental destruction and greater threats to survival for Australias threatened species.

The draft document is open for public consultation until March 16.

PM to give $60m to save Great Barrier Reef "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is to unveil a multi-million-dollar plan to protect the Great Barrier Reef against mass bleaching.

The plan, to cost about $60 million over the next 18 months, will include funding farmers to reduce sediment run-off and innovative research, The Courier-Mail says.

Mr Turnbull is expected to announce the plan in Townsville on Monday, supported by leading scientists.

Last week, the federal and Queensland governments issued an open call to the worlds top scientific minds to help save the reef.

The governments have launched a $2 million challenge to find novel ways to restore reefs and lift coral abundance.

This is an open invitation to our greatest scientific minds, industry and business leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions which will protect corals and encourage the recovery of damaged reefs, said Federal Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg.

The reef is the planets greatest living wonder. The scale of the problem is big and big thinking is needed, but its important to remember that solutions can come from anywhere.

The Great Barrier Reef is still reeling from back-to-back coral bleaching events in 2016 and 2017, while authorities are also dealing with a crown-of-thorns starfish outbreak in southern parts of the reef.

Doctors warn of rural mental health crisis "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is warning there is a mental health crisis in rural and remote parts of the country.

The services chief executive Martin Laverty says five times as many people in cities are accessing mental health services compared to those in remote Australians .

If thats not a crisis, I dont know what a crisis is, he told ABC radio on Monday.

The service saw 24,500 people to provide mental health counselling last year.

We could double or triple that service tomorrow and still not touch the surface, Mr Laverty said.

Health Minister Greg Hunt acknowledges there is a very significant challenge with mental health in the regions.

He said the government is working to provide additional services in the area such as rural Headspace, telehealth and online services.

Because no matter where you are, in the middle of the night, if its 3am and there is a dark, dark moment you need to be able to speak to somebody or you need to get help, he said.

Efforts are also being made over coming months to create a program of incentives to encourage more medical workers to move to the bush.

For the past 25 years Craig McLachlan has been the golden-haired boy of the Australian theatre and television industry.

But now the Gold Logie award-winning actor famous for his starring roles in the Doctor Blake Mysteries, Neighbours and Home and Away stands accused of indecent assault, sexual harassment, exposing himself and bullying female colleagues.

A major investigation by Fairfax Media and the ABC can reveal that a number of female cast members of the 2014 Rocky Horror Show have alleged they were abused, harassed or assaulted by McLachlan, 52.

Two cast members have lodged a complaint with Victoria Police, alleging that a number of actresses in the show were subjected to McLachlan touching their genitals, groping their breasts, exposing himself and pressing his penis against them.

Complaints to the production company, the Gordon Frost Organisation, fell on deaf ears, they say.

Craig McLachlan set to fight misconduct allegations in court "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Im not sure how wise Craig McLachlan is to launch defamation actions.

After all, at least two female alleged victims of his behaviour have gone to NSW Police and complained about Craig McLachlans alleged sexual behaviour.

It sounds like there is substance to these ladies claims why would so many ladies have come forward to media and told their stories are they making these salacious, scandalous allegations up? I think not.

Id say Craig McLachlan is going to get himself deeper and deeper into trouble by not owning his errant behaviour, apologising to the alleged victims, and getting off his high horse.

If NSW Police charge him during the defamation proceedings, which will take a long time, his defamation action will go down in flames.

The only parties to benefit from this saga now are the media and lawyers.

Nothing is Impossible: Rediscovering The Kybalion "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

By MITCH HOROWITZ

And with the wish the energy was born
Corpus Hermeticum, book I

I once regarded The Kybalion as little more than a novelty of early twentieth-century occultism. I considered the book a faux-antique work of mind-power philosophy, dressed up in pseudo-Hermetic language and offering a handful of serviceable but not greatly significant ideas of practical spirituality.

I was wrong.

This enduring work, which appeared on the American occult scene in 1908 under the mysterious byline Three Initiates, has earned its posterity. The book serves as something close to what it claims to be: a Great Reconciler of metaphysical, transcendental, and New Thought philosophies.

Although some of The Kybalions reference points and formulations are plainly modern, the book can justly be defended as an authentic retention of certain ancient Hermetic ideas. Its author about whom Ill say more in a moment drew upon elements of the Hermetica, a late-ancient collection of Greek and occasional Latin writings attributed to the mythical man-god Hermes Trismegistus, or thrice-greatest Hermes. This was a Greek appellation for Ancient Egypts god of writing and intellect, Thoth, whom the Greeks venerated above their own Hermes or Mercury. Using Greek literary form, the various and unnamed authors of the Hermetic tracts, not always agreeing among themselves, codified fragments of immeasurably old oral precepts from Ancient Egypt.1

I should have listened more closely when, almost twenty years ago, a respected religious philosopher, who himself had translated some of the core Hermetic writings, told me of The Kybalion, with his voice low and a gleam in his eye: There are some good ideas in that little book.

Indeed there are and it took me a long time to rediscover them. It is not always easy to say exactly what brings us back to a book or an idea. I had always orbited around The Kybalion, albeit tentatively; I admired or grew friendly with some of its acolytes and with cultural figures influenced by it; and, finally, in 2017, I returned to the book in full. It was as though a light went on. Maybe my journey is an example of the books dictum: When the ears of the student are ready to hear, then cometh the lips to fill them with wisdom.

Before saying more about the value of The Kybalion, let me address the question of its authorship. The identity of the Thre...

A taxonomy of never-Trumpers "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Im a sucker for taxonomies, and Ross Douthat has quite a good one in the New York Times

Like any strange and quarrelsome sect, the church of anti-Trump conservatism has divided and subdivided since Donald Trumps election. Some members have apostatized and joined the ranks of Trumpists; others have marched leftward, with anti-Trumpism as a gateway drug to wokeness. There is a faction that is notionally skeptical of Trump but functionally anti-anti-Trump, a faction that insists its just calling balls and strikes and a faction screaming that the president rigged the game and needs to be thrown out.

Whats interesting is that, from my observation, he has the factions about right in order of size. The group who have gone left is probably smaller than its ranking suggests, but contains most of what was left of serious thought on the conservative/libertarian side of politics. The smallest group, and the one treated most dismissively, consists of those who have remained politicaly conservative while being unremittingly hostile to Trump. Its members are either out of active politics already (like the Bushes) or are kicking Trump on the way out (like Corker and Flake). By 2020, it will probably be an empty set. That obviously raises the question of what will remain of the conservative movement when and if Trump is defeated.

A point of purely sporting interest is to classify Douthat himself. Id say, some mixture of anti-anti-Trump and balls and strikes. The main part of his column, arguing that Trump is more of a joke than a menace, is consistent with this, I think.

Aleister Crowley & The Book of the Law: A Magical Encounter in Egypt "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Stele of Ankh-ef-en-Khonsu

By ROBERT BLACK

Aleister Crowley (18751947) is remembered as a libertine, philosopher, mountaineer, magician, and supposedly the wickedness man in the world. He wrote bad poetry, pornographic books, novels and a vast array of literature.

He is best known as being an infamous occultist and the scribe of The Book of the Law, which introduced Thelema to the world. Crowley was an influential member of several occult organisations, including the Golden Dawn, the A..A.., and Ordo Templi Orientis.

One of the most enigmatic aspects of Crowleys life was his receipt of what he believed to be a document dictated by a praetor human intelligence known as Aiwazz.

Crowley studied ceremonial magic for many years, but he felt he had not found the success he was searching for. He and his wife Rose travelled to Egypt where they spent a night in the Kings Chamber of the Great Pyramid. Rose became clairaudient and began to repeat the phrase They are waiting for you. Crowley was bemused as Rose was not known for her interest in magic or occultism, and hitherto had shown no signs of psychic ability. But she was insistent, and perhaps more to humour his young wife Crowley invoked the god Thoth and asked a number of test questions.

Surprisingly, the answers were way beyond his wifes understanding and showed a level of sophistication that piqued Crowleys interest, to say the least. The final test involved an image of Horus at a local museum. He asked the communicating being to identify it. Rose very quickly identified various images of Horus, but it was the stele of Ankh-ef-en-Khonsu that she was most drawn to, an artefact known as inventory number 666 (Crowleys personal number as The Master Therion). The being not only identified Horus on the stele but caused Rose to explain that the intelligence attempting to communicate was not Horus himself but his representative Aiwazz.

On 8 April 1904, between noon and early in the morning, Crowley experienced a dark and overwhelming presence behind him. It communicated through him a bit like automatic writing and dictated over three days what became known as Liber AL vel Legis or The Book of the Law. The Book of the Law offers a new revelation and the revival of the Egyptian cult...

Egypt in the Western Occult Tradition "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Egyptian god of knowledge, wisdom & magic, Thoth, carved on the back of the throne of the seated statue of Rameses II. It was believed Thoth was the original source of important spiritual knowledge which was preserved in the Corpus Hermeticum.

By RICHARD SMOLEY

O Egypt, Egypt, of your reverent deeds only stories will survive, and they will be incredible to your children! Only words cut in stone will survive to tell your faithful works, and the Scythian or Indian or some such neighbour barbarian will dwell in Egypt.

This haunting passage comes from the Corpus Hermeticum, the celebrated Hermetic body of writings, believed to go back to Hermes Trismegistus himself, a semidivine figure associated with the Greek god Hermes and his Egyptian equivalent, Thoth.

These texts go back no further than the early centuries of the Common Era. The passage above hints at their purpose: to preserve something of the knowledge of Ancient Egypt as its civilisation began to decay. Here is a good place to start when looking at Egypts role in the Western occult tradition.

The Corpus Hermeticum was brought to Italy in the mid-fifteenth century by Greeks fleeing the collapsing Byzantine Empire. The great patron of the arts, Cosimo de Medici, had these texts translated into Latin almost immediately. Because scholars thought they went back to Hermes Trismegistus, believed to be a contemporary, and perhaps a teacher, of Moses, they were held in the highest esteem for almost two centuries. When their true date was discovered, they lost much of their prestige, and they have never quite regained it. Nevertheless, they have shaped the Western esoteric tradition in innumerable ways.

Consider Athanasius Kircher, a seventeenth-century Jesuit who, in the subtitle of Joscelyn Godwins recent book about him, was the last man to search for universal knowledge. Part of the knowledge he sought was the meaning of the hieroglyphs. Kirchers interpretation, created out of his own imagination, was almost entirely wrong. But his mistakes are instructive.

The symbol that he regarded as the key to this knowledge is a human-headed scarab from a bronze tabletop known as the Bembine Table of Isis. The body of the scarab, Kircher says, is the Earth; its wings are the airy sphere; several concentric ovals set in the place of the shoulders ar...

Modern Medicine: The New World Religion "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

By REG LITTLE

East Asia and possibly South Asia have strong traditions that offer insight into Western medical and scientific follies, but many parts of the developing world are much more vulnerable. The French author, Olivier Clerc, in his 2004 publication, Modern Medicine: The New World Religion has exposed the complex and confused mix of Christian and Enlightenment forces unleashed on many communities without effective traditional spiritual and scientific defences.

It is perhaps no accident that Clerc comes from a nation that, like those of East Asia, has sought ways to defend traditional agricultural and food cultures from the dictates of Anglo-American free trade and market forces. France is also a nation with a uniquely strong administrative tradition capable of exercising authority over corporate interests.

Clerc offers a unique and powerful insight into the way in which contemporary life and thought in developing nations have been perverted by a wicked mix of the power of corporate marketing, the mystique of science and the superstition of religion. He shows how illusion operates at many levels in society and how medicine and religion become entangled and almost inseparable in popular faith.

The following summary is derived from an outline on the web of Clercs book. He shows that illusion and faith are central qualities of Western civilisation, which are distinguished with difficulty. They are capable of destroying spiritual and health wisdom wherever they are found.

Clerc remarks on how Christian missionaries of the last three or four centuries sought to evangelise primitive people by destroying or burning the various cult objects of these people in order to eradicate their religions, superstitions and customs.

Yet, whether it was conquistadors stamping out Inca culture, the Inquisition stamping out European heresies, or Christian missionaries stamping out Voodoo or other African and Asian religions, the destruction of objects of worship did not prevent the continuation of strongly rooted inclinations, albeit with different qualities.

Clerc shows that the supposed secularisation of present day society is also just an illusion, with the beliefs and superstitions of Judeo-Christian culture remaining deeply embedded in the modern Western subconscious, becoming identified with many secular aspects of daily lives without people realising it.

The daily evening television news bulletins, the stars of...

The Magus Was A Spy: Aleister Crowley and the Curious Connections Between Intelligence and the Occult "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

A war time photo of Aleister Crowley imitating Britains Prime Minister Winston Churchill, for whom he claimed to have invented the V for Victory hand sign.

By DR RICHARD SPENCE

In Magick Without Tears, Aleister Crowley observed a fundamental similarity between the Secret Chiefs, the invisible and inaccessible Masters to whom he professed obedience, and Captain A. and Admiral B. of the Naval Intelligence Service. Both, he noted, keep in the dark for precisely the same reasons; and these qualities disappear instantaneously the moment They want to get hold of you.1

Crowley, arguably the most famous or infamous occultist of the last century, spoke from personal experience. Throughout his career, Mr. Crowley, aka The Great Beast 666 and the Wickedest Man in the World, maintained some kind of connection with one or another aspect of British intelligence, most notably the Admiraltys Naval Intelligence branch. His case is by no means exceptional. Many of his associates in the occult realm, among them Everard Feilding, Theodore Reuss, Hanns Heinz Ewers, and Maxwell Knight, also had links to one spy agency or another.

The inter-connection of occultism and espionage goes back at least to the Elizabethan intrigues of Dr. John Dee, and certainly is much older than that. For Crowley, Dr. Dee was a role-model in more ways than one. Occult orders and spy agencies do share much in common. Both are focused on the acquisition and safeguarding of specialised knowledge and embrace secrecy as a cardinal virtue. They are selective in recruitment and members are bound by oaths of silence and loyalty. They operate, so much as possible, outside public view or even public awareness. The pursuit of occult knowledge provides an excellent training ground for espionage and kindred intrigue, and vice versa. As Crowleys literary creation Sir Anthony Bowling put it, investigation of spiritualism makes a capital training ground for secret service work, one soon gets up to all the tricks.2

What follows is a selective and inevitably brief survey of various persons who were involved in intelligence work and occult pursuits. The common denominator and main object of attention will be Crowley himself.

Crowley makes scattered allusions to intelligence work in his autobiographica...

Alchemy The Art of Transformation: An Interview with Cherry Gilchrist "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

By RICHARD SMOLEY

Cherry Gilchrists book on the history and interpretation of alchemy has remained a classic since its first publication in 1984. Alchemy, the Great Work: A History and Evaluation of the Western Hermetic Tradition will be published in a new edition by Weiser Books, with an introduction by Mark Booth, in June 2015.

Her book on alchemy as a system of self-development, drawing on the Twelve Gates of George Ripley and alchemical imagery, is Everyday Alchemy, published by Rider in 2002.

She has appeared on radio and TV on various occasions to discuss alchemy, most notably on Stephen Hawkings World, in an episode filmed in Owlpen Manor in Gloucestershire, UK, home and haunt of an eighteenth-century alchemist.

Cherry also draws on her knowledge of the Tree of Life, astrology, and divination in her writings on alchemy. She has studied these subjects since her student days at Cambridge, from which she graduated with a degree in English literature and anthropology. Following the line of oral traditions and wisdom, she has also written about Russian folk traditions, ancestry, personal life stories, and myths and legends from different cultures. Cherry is at present writing a book on the traditional Tarot trumps for Quest Books. For details of her work, see www.cherrygilchrist.co.uk.

Other interests include singing early music, and travel. Places visited such as Easter Island, Siberia, and the Silk Road have given her inspiration for her books, and insight into ancient cultures.

Cherrys own philosophy is that the Hermetic work can be passed down through a genuine line of teaching, and that it needs to find different forms in new generations. She was a founder member of Saros, the Foundation for the Perpetuation of Knowledge, an organisation headquartered in the UK which took on those aims.

Cherry lives in Exeter, UK, with her husband, artist Robert Lee-Wade.

Richard Smoley (RS): Maybe we could start by a brief definition of what you think alchemy is.

Cherry Gilchrist (CG): Alchemy is about transformation. In its most basic definition, its the transformation of base material or metal into gold. However, that is too simplistic, according to the ways in whic...

Web Exclusive: Illuminati investigates Clow UFO Base following Womens March in Chicago (Fiction) "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

After 300,000 people attended the Womens March Chicago, the Illuminati announced it was launching an investigation into security at Clow UFO Base.

We cannot believe that more humans attended this years march than last years march, said Mu, an investigator aligned with the Illuminati.  We think most of the marchers were aliens, and that means there was a serious security breach at Clow UFO Base.  We also think the New World Order bussed in aliens to Chicago from their base in Rochelle, IL.  We are going to get to the bottom of this, starting with Clow.

Clow officials denied any security breaches at the base.

The base is still locked down, said an official who asked to remain anonymous.  There are no flights to Clow, and we are keeping a close eye on flights leaving Clow.  To the best of our knowledge, none of our visitors went to the Chicago march.  Mayor Claar made it very clear that we were to do everything in our power to keep visitors away from the march.  If you ask me, I think a lot of people just hate President Trump and his administrations treatment of women.  Thats why the marches were so popular.  But you didnt ask me.

Other officials said they would cooperate with the Illuminati, but did not believe any aliens from Clow attended the march.

Clow UFO Base is under the jurisdiction of the Illuminati following Mayor Roger Claars defection from the New World Order in 2016.

Thomas Xavier, an administrator for the New World Order, says only ten aliens were authorized from Hub 35 in Rochelle to attend the march and believes others watched from orbit.

We did not use our visitors to inflate the numbers of marchers in Chicago.  The public is rejecting the chaos sought by the Illuminati and will turn to the order and stability we will offer them.  The tide is turning.

A phone call to Claar was answered by a receptionist, who said he was busy and could not be disturbed.

In the background, a man who sounded like Claar said, Charline, I just found out that my slide on the racial demographics of Bolingbrook is wrong.

You approved it.

You messed it up.

I didnt mess it up.  I did it on purpose.

Why?

I was sending a subliminal message to the Trump supporter...

Global monthly temperatures since 1850 -- instrumental estimates plus Copernicus

Global monthly instrumental temperatures since 1850 instrumental estimates plus Copernicus

Copernicus is the new name for the European Unions earth observation programme. The climate component, Copernicus Climate Change Service is run by European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, operators of the world-leading global weather model that we call ECMWF. Starting in late 2014, much of the climate change programs emphasis has been on reanalysis.

ERA-Interim

Reanalysis is the stuff of re-assimilating weather data into a global weather model to produce a fine-scale, time-varying representation of the system across the full length of the data record. Thats essentially just a data tracking model, but at extraordinary sophistication. ERA-Interim, published in 2009, is what ECMWF calls a fourth-generation reanalysis product. (Meteorologists have been at this thing for a while; Copernicus has now started publishing its fifth-generation product.) Reanalysis.org has this summary:

What MLK's 'letter from Birmingham jail' tells us about 16y/o jailed Ahed Tamimi "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

In recent weeks, several people have said that the liberal indifference to Ahed Tamimi's detention in an Israeli prison for slapping an occupying soldier on December 15 is reminiscent of the white liberals in Martin Luther King's Letter from a Birmingham Jail, written in 1963. Today, you can give yourself no better political lesson than rereading that inspiring document of the American movement for freedom. King's letter is an explanation of the need for "direct political action." King addresses a group of white liberal ministers and rabbis who have said they're against segregation but times are changing, so why do "extremist" black clergy have to risk a backlash with provocative demonstrations? King answers that time is neutral and won't do anything on its own; blacks have waited for hundreds of years for some modicum of justice and learned that the privileged will never give up privilege without pressure. White businesses promised to remove humiliating signs directing blacks to segregated water coolers and bathrooms and never followed through, and meantime anti-colonial struggles in other countries have outpaced American change, and inspired blacks to dream of an equal future.

Pugh said she would ask the City Council to make the posting permanent, the Baltimore Sun reported. De Sousa told reporters Friday morning that he "has a lot of respect" for Davis, but also said residents are "frustrated and they want answers and they want change," according to the Sun. The new commissioner promised to deploy "waves" of officers to stamp out the violence in well-known "hot spots" and key corridors throughout the city.

Continuity of Agenda: US Encirclement of China Continues Under Trump "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

January 20, 2018 (Ulson Gunnar - NEO) - The United States has pursued a decades-long policy of encircling, containing and if possible, undermining China as part of a larger strategy of achieving and maintaining what US policy papers call "primacy" over Asia.

US policy has led to deeply-rooted networks operating within China's borders and along China's geopolitical peripheries to divide and destabilize the immense and increasingly powerful Asian state. These networks are funded and supported regardless of who occupies the White House. While the rhetoric shifts from president to president regarding "why" the US is providing so-called "activists" and "opposition" fronts aid, the aid and the agenda it serves continues.

Under current US President Donald Trump's predecessor President Barack Obama, this ongoing policy was marketed to the American and international public as the "Pivot to Asia." It was spun as a means for the US to reengage with Asia but in reality constituted an overt attempt to co-opt the governments of China's neighbors and break up the region's growing ties with Beijing.

Obama's "Pivot" was a failure, but one within the greater context of a general decline in US primacy both in the Asia Pacific region and around the world.

Under Trump, this policy of encircling and containing China continues. It is now marketed to the public as an "Indo-Pacific" strategy, with the US forced to court India, Australia and Japan on the fringes of Asia Pacific after failing to make progress within Asia Pacific itself.

It is important to understand just how long-term these polices are so that when Trump announces them to the public, the public understands that it is not "Trump's" policy, but simply Trump continuing to carry out the agenda of the very special interests (the so-called "Deep State") he vowed to resist upon taking office.

Understanding that these policies serve special interests and at the cost of the American public helps inoculate the public to rhetoric claiming that confronting China and destabilizing Asia is somehow part of "making America great again."

Is Privacy Possible in the Digital Era? (Chapter 4, Part 3)

Recent inventions and business methods call attention to the next step which must be taken for the protection of the person, and for securing to the individual the right to be let alone Numerous mechanical devices threaten to make good the prediction that what is whispered in the closet shall be proclaimed from the house-tops.

Louis Brandeis

What is privacy? Simple images come to mind, like slamming a door in the face of a census taker, but the question unlocks a complex issue.

Perhaps the most famous answer comes from an article by the American attorneys Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis, which appeared in a 1890 issue of the Harvard Law Review. It was one of the most influential articles in the history of legal theory. The Right to Privacy is considered to be the first prominent call for privacy as a concept to be cemented into law. It opened: THAT the individual shall have full protection in person and in property is a principle as old as the common law; but it has been found necessary from time to time to define anew the exact nature and extent of such protection. Elsewhere, privacy is defined as the right to be left alone.

The article argued for privacy as a foundational or basic human right, upon which all other rights depended. The right of property in its widest sense including all rights and privileges, and hence embracing the right to an inviolate personality, affords alone that broad basis upon which the protection which the individual demands can be rested. No right is more basic than pri...

Star Citizen - unifying the control system - screen relative push pulling "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

supposedly, Star Citizen is 'doing things that other games don't do' but...

seriously? and this is just for one mode of movement

They have a clunky interface written by a database designer.
They have a problem with doors.
They have multiple control mappings per vehicle you're in, personal or space.

One of the things I felt was very important (when I was in the games industry) was UNIFY THE CONTROL SYSTEM.

Screen Relative:
in first person or in third person, it's possible to use a screen-relative mouse move method for movement left-right and up-down. Roll and strafe could be combined into a up-down and left-right one-key override. How does this help us with 'doors' i.e. ladders etc? Everything should be screen-relative such that the Coordinate Transition i.e. from local to global across time t, can be hidden more cleverly. Smoother event-merging transitions can then be achieved i.e. linking into the hierarchy of a ladder/chair/ship/planet/star...

Mouse scroll:
the game aleady uses mouse scroll for the forward/reverse thrust of a Player character through the walking aspect of the game world. It works very well. So, why is this not applied to the ship/vehicles you drive/use? The same PushPull mouse-scrolling can be used for the range of your HUD-based scan-interface when looking for useful things to Quantum Travel to. Wacky Nuclear Politics About to Blow Up the US and with its Own Rhetoric "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

4431

One does not need to have grown up in the age of duck and cover to understand that the nuclear scare that we are now experiencing could have been inspired from the script of Dr. Strangelove, written by of Stanley Kubrick as a black comedy that reflected the reality of nuclear weapons, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Released 1964, the films plot caused a good deal of controversy because it was too close to what could have been reality.

Fifty years later, and after the demise of the USSR, much is now being said about the nuclear programmes of Iran and South Korea. Iran insists activities are peaceful and civilian, rather than military, in character. North Korea openly flaunts its weapons programme and claims its nuclear technology is so advanced that it can send an ICBM to strike the United States whenever it wants.

In order to manufacture nuclear weapons you need two things: uranium and the means of enriching it. According to those in the mining and defence industries, North Korea and Iran do not have the expertise to enrich uranium. So they are not capable of producing nuclear weapons at present, but we are still told that they are a constant threat to the West in spite of this.

There is one obvious way to address this threat by preventing Iran, North Korea or any other rogue state getting hold of uranium. If countries which cant enrich uranium are still threats despite this, possession of the uranium must be the root of the problem. Clearly therefore measures must be taken to stop the supply of uranium to Iran and North Korea, or anyone else who might use it to create nuclear weapons, the ones invented by the West and promoted as guarantors of peace since 1945.

Who supplies uranium? There used to be two main countries: Canada and Australia. Both these countries are impeccably Western, with no significant enemies. Consequently they are obliged, whether they like it or not, to advocate unrestricted free trade. If anyone tries to tell them they cant sell their uranium to any other country, when unenriched uranium cant be used for offensive purposes, they will let out screams heard round the world, and rightly so.

But now these countries hav...

'Great surprise': Houthi general says turning point in Yemen conflict close at hand "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

The armed forces of the Houthi-controlled government in the Yemeni capital Sana'a have boosted their air defenses to a point where they no longer need to fear airstrikes by Saudi-led coalition forces, army spokesman Sharaf Luqman said, in an interview with Sputnik. Brigadier-General Luqman said that the army now has all it needs to repel "enemy aggression" at sea, on the ground and in the air. "The Yemeni army has taken over many enemy strongholds, which has changed the situation on the battlefield," the general said. "These are depots with arms for the Air Force, night-vision cameras, ballistic missiles and launchers. This answers questions about where we are getting weapons amid the current blockade; who is helping us; and whether Iran is supplying us with ballistic missiles and military advisors," he added.

This Is Our Saratoga Moment: It Is Time for ALL Patriots to Smell Blood and Act Accordingly "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

I have been a member of the Independent Media since 2004. In that time, I have developed the experience to understand the thought processes of the Deep State and the globalists at large.   We are lucky to have Steve Quayle, Doug Hagmann, Paul Martin, Dr. Ted Broer, Paul Preston, Stan and Holly Deyo, et al., championing our cause. I love to hear the giants of our industry talk because they have such wisdom that only comes from innate intelligence and massive experience dealing with the filth that is the New World Order. As an aside, I would like to mention that Paul Martin is recovering from his heart attack and is resting comfortably at home.

For the first time in my 14 years in the Independent Media, we have the  Deep State on the run. America still may not survive and despite our recent string of successes, total victory is not at hand and probably will not be until the Second Coming of Christ. However, we are presently defeating these scoundrels on multiple fronts and we are obtaining assistance from very unlikely sources which includes members of Congress and members of the mainstream media. I am stunned as I observe how many Congressman are pressing the issue of prosecuting members of the Deep State and their minions.

Americans Are Fickle

Many of my colleagues will frequently lament and ask What do we have to wake up America? Many more Americans are awake that I think we realize. However, they often view the enemy as being all-powerful and develop a world view of cognitive dissonance in which they tell themselves that their actions can make no difference, so why even try?

From my coaching background, I am very familiar with the term front-runner, and in the preceding paragraphs this is exactly what I am describing. A front-runner is someone who waits to emotionally commit to rooting for a team until they start to win as these people want to make certain that their emotional investment has a good chance of being rewarded with victory. In this spirit, I can confidently state that we have reached the front-runner stage of our struggle. If you know your American Revolution history, you k...

Julian Assange warns of 'political propaganda' as Amazon's Alexa becomes feminist "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa has just received an enhanced personality: now, not only can she give you the correct answers, but can even offer a response in case of insults and personal attacks. Creators also expect that she could potentially express her own opinions on certain political issues, a move that has prompted criticism. Anyone who calls Alexa a "slut" now gets a negative response, German newspaper Die Zeit reported. Amazon has adapted the machine's character and how it responds in various situations. Now Alexa, who identifies herself as a woman and a feminist, will react to sexually charged insults with answers like "This is not for me," "This is not nice of you" or "I don't know what you expect." In addition, Alexa supports the Black Lives Matter movement and might potentially express her opinion on other important political issues in the future.

'Alt-right' has declared war against Silicon Valley, pledges to reveal censorship against conservatives "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Far-right conservatives are escalating their campaign against Silicon Valley with a new series of volleys against the social media gatekeepers that control the flow of information in the digital age. Last week, former Google engineer James Damore, who was embraced by conservatives after he was fired last year for distributing a memo that questioned whether women were biologically suited to technical roles, filed a lawsuit claiming the Internet giant discriminates against white men and conservatives. That same day, right-wing journalist-turned-entrepreneur Charles C. "Chuck" Johnson sued Twitter, alleging the company violated his right to free speech when it permanently suspended his account in 2015. Then Project Veritas, a conservative advocacy organization that purports to expose media bias, released undercover videos of current and former Twitter employees condemning President Trump and discussing tactics the company uses to make it tougher to find the tweets of controversial users. Johnson, whose lawsuit against Twitter is being underwritten by bitcoin investments and a crowdfunding campaign, says he and others are committed to putting the spotlight on the alleged censoring of conservative views by Silicon Valley companies. Twitter declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Stop the War on Migrants is a campaign against the current EU border and migration policies. It focuses on the way the EU militarises border security, both at its own (external) borders and in third countries, and the arms and security companies, such as Airbus and Thales, lobbying for and profiting from this. No border security, detention and deportations, but safe routes, good shelter and working on removing the causes that force people to flee.

US-Mexico border wall models thwart commandos in tests "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Recent assaults by tactical teams on prototypes of President Donald Trump's proposed wall with Mexico indicate their imposing heights should stop border crossers, a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the rigorous assessment told The Associated Press. Military special forces based in Florida and U.S. Customs and Border Protection special units spent three weeks trying to breach and scale the eight models in San Diego, using jackhammers, saws, torches and other tools and climbing devices, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the information was not authorized for public release. A Customs and Border Protection report on the tests identifies strengths and flaws of each design but does not pick an overall winner or rank them, though it does point to see-through steel barriers topped by concrete as the best overall design, the official said. The report recommends combining elements of each, depending on the terrain. The official likened it to a Lego design, pulling pieces from different prototypes.

NSA promises to preserve surveillance data - claims it deleted it "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The agency tells a federal judge that it is investigating and 'sincerely regrets its failure.' The National Security Agency destroyed surveillance data it pledged to preserve in connection with pending lawsuits and apparently never took some of the steps it told a federal court it had taken to make sure the information wasn't destroyed, according to recent court filings. Word of the NSA's foul-up is emerging just as Congress has extended for six years the legal authority the agency uses for much of its surveillance work conducted through U.S. internet providers and tech firms. President Donald Trump signed that measure into law Friday. Since 2007, the NSA has been under court orders to preserve data about certain of its surveillance efforts that came under legal attack following disclosures that President George W. Bush ordered warrantless wiretapping of international communications after the 2001 terrorist attacks on the U.S. In addition, the agency has made a series of representations in court over the years about how it is complying with its duties.

Patent Quality (Not Numbers) as an Asset: Oppositions, Appeals and Rejections at the EPO "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

If patent information is the goal, then overload is a threat

Information overload
Reference: Information overload

Summary: Benot Battistelli wants a rubber-stamping operation (like INPI) rather than a functional patent office, but oppositions at the Office prove to be fruitful and many erroneously-granted patents are by extrapolation already being revoked (affecting, in retrospect, Battistellis so-called results)

THIS WEEK has been historic at the EPO not because of scandals or conflicts but because of a decision we covered here several times*. It was a major blow to patent maximalists.

The patent microcosm never really cared about patent quality; the quality of patents has little to do with the business model. All they care about, based on this upcoming event (advertised yesterday), is how to double the number of patents by throwing the same texts at multiple piles of applications at multiple offices. EPO and USPTO approaches to rejections is one among the topics covered. As we pointed out here before, the USPTO barely tolerates patents on genetics. There are few ultra-wealthy companies aspiring to own everything, including life itself (Monsanto/Bayer for example) and they crush ordinary people, such as farmers, in the process.

The EPO has lost touch; The discrimination against SMEs at the EPO is not accidental but a planned/intentional policy. According to this, the EPO keeps lying about and supposedly on behalf of SMEs. Where does that end? Even EPO staff is being crushed nowadays. Nobody is being served but billionaires.

Steve Beckow -- The Deep State's Anti-Obama Meme "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Golden Age of Gaia, Jan. 20, 2017

http://goldenageofgaia.com/?p=292002

With so many allegations being made against President Obama, I found myself harboring doubts.

So I asked Archangel Michael on two occasions whether the President is or had been involved in any malfeasance, treasonous or otherwise. And twice he said "No."

I post two extracts from personal readings on Dec. 20, 2017 and Jan. 18, 2018 in which he addressed the matter at length. Linda Dillon is the channel.

We heard the Divine Mother say a few years ago that the Obama birth certificate was indeed a forgery. But it wasn't the President who forged it. It was Team Dark.

Steve Beckow: Was Barack Obama's birth certificate doctored?

Divine Mother: Yes.

SB: So the accusations against Barack Obama that his birth certificate is false, they really apply to the people who actually doctored the certificate to give rise to these suspicions. Is that true?

DM: That is correct. (1)

The dark forces in the intelligence community play a dirty trick where they plant a forgery and then expose it. The innocent party does not know what happened. Very few people suspect that agents of our own governments would forge a document related to a President and then plant it.

But this is what they did with Obama, according to the Mother. Many of us probably bought the forgery.

Over a meter of snow dumps on the Alps in 72 hours, with another meter forecast over next 3 days "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

A number of ski areas in the Alps have reported up to 1.3m (over four feet) of snowfall in the past 72 hours and forecasters are expecting up to 1.3m (over four feet) of snowfall in the next 72 hours. All the snow is good news for resort bases, but less good for skiers and boarders in resort at present, or travelling out tomorrow, Saturday 20th January, as ski areas are only able to open limited terrain safely, conditions are frequently poor even in those limited open areas , and travel to and from resorts can be difficult. Austria's Ziller Valley is reporting 1.2m (four feet) of snow in the past 72 hours with Verbier reporting 105cm and the Portes du Soleil region up to 90cm (three feet) of snow. Many other resorts including Crans Montana, Davos, Laax, La Plagne and Zermatt have had 60-90cm of new snowfall.

ISIS shadow grows over Pakistan "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Cut in US security aid will make it harder to take on the terrorist group

Late last year, a black-and-white flag was detected fluttering in the breeze near a highway in Pakistans capital, Islamabad. It bore the emblem of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS), and at its base were three words: Khilafat is coming.

The caliphate is coming is an apt warning as Pakistan struggles in its campaign against terrorism and religious extremism.

A report published this month by the independent Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies (Pips) flagged an alarming increase in ISIS footprint in the country even though the Pakistan Taleban and its affiliates remain the most potent threat, being responsible for nearly 60 per cent of the 370 terrorist attacks last year.

What has been quite alarming is the increasing footprint of Daesh, especially in Balochistan and Sindh, said the annual security report, using the Arabic term for ISIS.

ISIS was responsible for at least six major attacks last year that left 153 people dead, mostly civilians, it noted. Its victims included two Chinese nationals who were abducted and killed. Other targets included a Sufi shrine in Sindh in which scores were killed, a Methodist church in Quetta and a Pakistani military convoy.

There is a need to take the matter more seriously because there is a possibility that foreign fighters would come to Pakistan in the near future as things are continuously changing in the Middle East, Pips official Muhammad Ismail Khan told The Dawn.

'Amerikagate'? Russia accuses US of secret opposition funding to destabilize country "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

"Unlike US embassies, which often use covert money transfers to fund various kinds of opposition groups, with the aim, among other things, to destabilize domestic political situations; this is something that Russia does not do," the ministry noted in an official statement. The ministry has also demanded Washington to punish those responsible for the disclosure of the confidential data, commenting on Buzzfeed's release of transactions, carried out by Russian diplomatic offices in the US, as well as some of the country's diplomats. "We urge the US to stop this practice, return to decent behavior, and to resume responsible and orderly interstate communication," the diplomat stressed. "We demand that US authorities finally begin to implement their own national legislation and international obligations, immediately stop the illegal dissemination of confidential information affecting the interests of the Russian Federation and bring to justice those responsible, including those who hold the appropriate posts in the US state apparatus." The statement went on by calling Buzzfeed an information tool of the US intelligence services.

Unhinged Neighbor Charged with Felony After Attacking Sen. Rand Paul and Breaking 6 of His Ribs "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

In early November Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was physically attacked by neighbor Rene Boucher while mowing his yard.

Boucher ran onto Pauls property and tackled him in a blindside attack breaking six of his ribs and a pleural effusion.

Senator Paul later suffered pneumonia from the attack.

Boecher was finally charged on Friday for the attack. Pauls neighbor was charged with a felony.

Boecher is reportedly a unhinged Trump-hating Socialist.

At least one MSNBC host celebrated the attack.

The Courier Journal reported:

Rene Boucher, the 58-year-old Bowling Green man accused of attacking U.S. Sen. Rand Paul at his home in November, has been charged with assaulting a member of congress resulting in personal injury.

The charges a federal felony were announced Friday by Josh J. Minkler, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.

Assaulting a member of Congress is an offense we take very seriously, Minkler said. Those who choose to commit such an act will be held accountable.

Boucher has signed a plea agreement, according to Minklers statement. No date has been set for the taking of his guilty plea.

Court documents claim Paul was mowing his yard on Nov. 3 and wearing headphones when Boucher, his neighbor, had enough after witnessing Paul stacking brush on a pile near Bouchers property. Boucher ran on to Pauls property and attacked him, the statement reads, resulting in multiple fractured ribs and more medical attention after Paul later contracted pneumonia.

SOTT FOCUS: US Needs Sh*thole Countries, Not the Other Way Around "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

We may never know what exactly President Trump said during a meeting on immigration, but Trump supporters - including popular media figures such as Tomi Lahren - overwhelmingly relished the use of the word "sh*ithole" to describe poor nations. Why Christians would mock the poor is beyond comprehensible; from a diplomatic perspective, this is obviously wrong; and from a human perspective, it's cruel. However, there are many conservatives who seem to only understand the language of money and self-interest. They also seem to believe that America is the center of the world, but fail to comprehend how the US is extremely dependent on the rest of the world.

Taking the Painter Out of Painting "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Christian Bonnefoi, PL-1 (1988), acrylic on tarlatan, 23 5/8 x 23 5/8 inches (courtesy CHB, photo Camille Bonnefoi)

Writing about an exhibition one did not see but wished he had is unusual, to say the least. Such is the case with this short piece on Christian Bonnefoi (b. 1948), a French painter whose work I have known since I was an art student in France in the late 70s, when it first emerged on the Paris art scene.

Entitled De lieu, il ny en pas (Theres No Such Thing as a Locus), the show in question, a comprehensive survey of recent works from 2008 to 2014, took place from April to June 2015 at the Matmut Center for Contemporary Art in Saint-Pierre-de-Varengeville, Normandy, France, and was accompanied by a catalogue with informative essays by the artist on his thought process.

A vital presence in contemporary French painting, Bonnefoi has been circling the New York art scene for years. He never gained a proper gallery foothold here, contrary to Bernard Frize, for example, another French abstract painter of roughly the same generation, who has had more regular exposure.

In the spring of 2016, Bonnefois work was shown in Soho at the Westreich-Wagner Art Advisory Space, whose collection was exhibited at the Whitney Museum in the fall of 2015. More recently, in the spring of 2017, he had a major one-person exhibition at the Campoli Presti Gallery in London, followed later that June by a symposium on his work organized by Mick Finch at the Central Saint Martins Art School.

One of the first aspects of Bonnefois work to strike the viewer is his use of scrim-like material, such as tarlatan gauze an open-mesh fabric often used by house painters to repair cracks in walls or the more recent German-made Trevira fabric, instead of the usual opaque cotton canvas or linen.

The result is a painting conceived as a see-through screen where the stretcher bars and the wall behind them peek through the surface and are present in the viewers mind as part of the overall image. Blank, unpainted areas, reminiscent of the patches of bare canvas that Czanne left in his late work, es...

Ted Nelson on What Modern Programmers Can Learn From the Past "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The inventor of hypertext talks about the birth of personal computing, the web, and how to think beyond the currently possible Stephen Cass

Ted Nelson is one of the original prophets of the information age. In the 1960s he invented the word hypertext , and created project Xanadu, which prefigured many of the elements of the World Wide Web.

Nelson was part of personal computing at a time when it saw itself as an outgrowth of the countercultural movement that flourished in the 1960s. This computing was done either via a terminal to minicomputers, or on microprocessors with transistor counts measuring only in thousands. Back in the summer of 2016, Nelson was a keynote speaker at Vintage Computing Festival East in New Jersey and IEEE Spectrum had the chance to interview him off-stage.

We thought this was a good time to dust off that interview. Were entering a period when the possibilities and dangers of computing are looming large in our minds, thanks to the explosion of machine learning, debates over the governance of the Internet, the impacts of automation, and unexpected weaknesses revealed by the Spectre and Meltdown hardware bugs. Nelson talks about how he and his fellow pioneers thought the future would be a world of citizen programmers, how the Web omits much of the architecture underlying Xanadu, and his advice for breaking through the current limits to new conceptual ground.

Donald Trump's first year: The illusion of choice "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The striking thing about Trump's first twelve months compared to the Obama administration is not how different his foreign policies have been, but how similar. January 20 marks one year since Donald Trump officially became the 45th President of the United States. His supporters, boosted by comments the Donald made on the campaign trail, hoped his Presidency would mark a shift away from a neocon/liberal interventionist foreign policy. In fact we've just had more of the same. The old French saying 'plus a change, plus c'est la mme chose (the more things change the more they stay the same)' springs readily to mind. Aurangabad: Union minister Satyapal Singh has claimed that Charles Darwins theory of evolution of man is scientifically wrong and it needs to be changed in school and college curriculum.

Singh, the minister of state for human resource development, said our ancestors have nowhere mentioned that they saw an ape turning into a man.

Darwins theory (of evolution of humans) is scientifically wrong. It needs to change in school and college curriculum. Since the man is seen on Earth he has always been a man, he said while speaking to reporters on January 19.

The IPS officer-turned-politician was in this central Maharashtra city to attend the All India Vaidik Sammelan.

Nobody, including our ancestors, in written or oral, have said they saw an ape turning into a man, he said.

No books we have read or the tales told to us by our grandparents had such a mention, the minister added.

'Democrats shut government down but struggle to explain why' "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

While they may not be able to admit it publicly (or even to themselves), it's clear that the Democrats have deliberately manufactured a government shutdown. Banking on a complicit media and a confused electorate, they have now fully embraced a political tactic they decried for eight years under President Obama. Charges that this shutdown is the fault of Republicans, or that Democrats haven't been part of the negotiations leading to the spending bill they rejected, are not true. Instead what's obvious is that Democrats methodically engineered a situation where the government could shut down over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Here are the steps they employed to get us here.

HERE IT IS=> Complete List of President Trumps Historic Accomplishments His First Year in Office! "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Guest post by Joe Hoft

President Donald J. Trump had arguably the best first year for any President in US history since Washington in spite of massive headwinds from the actions of the corrupt and criminal prior administration, the Democrat Party and their MSM! Below is a list of his major accomplishments.

President Trump was inaugurated on January 20th, 2017, one year ago.  Since then his accomplishments are nothing short of miraculous.  In spite of massive attacks from the MSM, an investigation created through the efforts of the prior corrupt administration, and a Democrat Party that does all they can to derail him, the President kept his promises and did all he could to Make America Great Again.  The results speak for themselves.

The Economy

The US stock market is a barometer of economic activity and since President Trump was elected President it has skyrocketed.

The stock market on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, this past week, says it all. On that day the Dow broke 26,000 points for the first time in its history.  As a result the Dow broke the record for the fastest 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 6,000 and 7,000 point increases between major milestones in the history of the Dow.  All of these increases occurred since Donald Trump was elected President.

The Dow today stands at 26,071.7It is up 42% since the 2016 election and 31% since last years inauguration.  The Dow had more all-time closing highs in 2017 than any year in history.  President Trump enjoys 95 all-time highs since his election and 78 since his inauguration.  The Dow is up an amazing 7,739 points since the election.

Americans of all walks of life are seeing their 401ks explode...

Hundreds of journals found in home of 13 captive children have great value for criminal investigators and trauma researchers "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The children weren't allowed to eat. They weren't allowed to bathe. They couldn't play with toys that were kept in the closet, still packaged. They couldn't go outside. They couldn't escape. Their depraved parents, prosecutors say, only allowed them to do one thing - they could write. On Sunday, Riverside County law enforcement discovered 13 siblings - ages 2 to 29 - imprisoned in an unassuming Perris home after a teenage captive escaped through a window and called for help, revealing a crime that has horrified and captivated the nation. The children's parents, David and Louise Turpin, now face life in prison for multiple counts of torture, child abuse, false imprisonment and other charges. While describing the case on Thursday, prosecutors revealed the Turpin children's only freedom was writing in journals, hundreds of which have been recovered by authorities.

In Defense of Immigration from Shi*thole Countries "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

(Garrison) Why are we having all these people from shi*hole countries come here? US president Donald Trump allegedly asked during an Oval Office meeting, further musing that the US should try to strike a new balance with fewer immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean and more from, say, Norway.

Well, of course, he shouldnt have put it THAT way, if he did (he denies it). Between the language and the demographics in his supposed example, hes handed his opponents the opportunity for a doubly delicious round of public moral preening look how vulgar, and how racist, Donald Trump is!

Maybe theyre right. But theyre missing much bigger points. Whatever his phraseology, and regardless of any racial differences between the populations of the countries he chooses as examples, he got the whole matter backward in two important ways.

First and foremost, neither Donald Trump nor Congress should be choosing who comes to America. Thats the markets job, not the governments job, and certainly not the federal governments job. Prospective employers and prospective employees dont need politicians to tell them whether or not they can get together. They can figure that out for themselves. If its government largess thats the problem, well, end the welfare state already instead of complaining endlessly about who uses it (besides which, immigrants pay more per capita in taxes and consume less per capita in welfare benefits than native-born Americans ).

Secondly, as sociologist and essayist Jacques Delacroix points out,  the incentives for immigration run in the opposite direction from that Trumps comment assumes:

Immigrants from wealthy states like Norway (which has a higher per capita GDP and a more robust welfare state than the US) are more likely to be from the bottom of the barrel the people who cant or wont  make out well for themselves in an economy even better than ours, but have enough money to get on a plane and take their laziness and complaining elsewhere.

Immigrants from poor states like Haiti, Somalia, and Delacroixs example India are more likely to be the cream of the crop, those ambitious enough to leave everything they know behind and start over in search of success, in some cases, even risking starvation in the desert or shark...

McDonald to become Sinn Fein President on February 10th "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

This morning Mary Lou McDonald officially became the next President of Sinn Fein, she officially takes over on February 10th.

Below are the remarks of her speech today in Belfast;

I am proud and honoured to be nominated for Uachtarn Shinn Fin. I look forward to being ratified at our special Ard Fheis on February 10th.

I know I have big shoes to fill taking on the role from Gerry Adams and I know that is impossible but I have brought my own shoes and together, with all of the party membership, we will walk on a journey that will lead to Irish unity.

Uniting this island is the best outcome for all our citizens and it is now our task to convince our unionist friends and neighbours of that and to encourage them to help us build a new Ireland.

We are entering a new era and we can look forward with confidence.

I want to see Sinn Fin in government north and south.

But it will be government based on equality, respects the rights of citizens, that delivers prosperity and opportunity for all and reflects our republican ideals.

To do that we need to continue to grow and develop, embracing new ideas while remaining true to our vision.

We are capable of achieving anything we set our minds to and it is now the task, duty and responsibility of all to create and deliver a new Ireland, together, united and strong

How to Save Football Players Brains "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

One simple rule change would solve much of the problem: Require the linemen to stand up.

Jan. 19, 2018 6:12 p.m. ET

Football is entertaining to watch, but its a violent collision sport that causes the majority of traumatic brain injuries in athletes. During a high-school season, one study finds, nearly 1 in 5 players on any given team will suffer a concussion. Many will suffer more than one. The football establishment needs to address this issue emphaticallyand it can do so without changing the essence of the game that millions of Americans love.

Concussions occur when the brain moves suddenly and forcefully within the skull, back and

'Sovereignty and security violation': Beijing outraged by US warship sailing off disputed island "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

China has slammed a US missile destroyer for encroaching on the "indisputable" Huangyan Dao island in the South China Sea, warning that it can and will take "necessary measures to firmly safeguard its sovereignty." In this latest clash over freedom of navigation in the disputed South China Sea, the USS Hopper missile destroyer sailed within 12 nautical miles of Huangyan Dao, a tiny island claimed by China, on January 17. The vessel failed to get Beijing's permission for entering the waters and was intercepted by the Chinese Navy, with China's Foreign Ministry accusing the US of violating "sovereignty and security interests" as well as posing a "grave threat" to its forces stationed in the area. "China is strongly dissatisfied with that and will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard its sovereignty," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said in a statement on Saturday. He also warned US forces against further "provocative moves" for the sake of "China-US relations and regional peace and stability."

High winds, big waves batter west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada (swells of up to 9.5 metres) "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Several beaches, including those in Pacific Rim National Park, were closed Thursday as the west coast of Vancouver Island was hit with high winds and swells of up to 9.5 metres. CTV reports that they were some of the largest waves seen on the west coast of Vancouver Island in a decade - possibly the largest ever. "Mostly, it's the danger of the water," Randy Mercer of Parks Canada told CHEK News of the decision to close the beaches. There's a risk of being knocked down and dragged out by the waves, or being struck by floating logs, he said.

Can you believe your eyes? "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Over at Biased BBC, there's a discussion about a BBC video about the 'child refugees' Mrs May had agreed to take from France at M. Macron's behest:

deegee
Was whoever edited the video told this would be a piece about immigrant children? There is a distinct lack of children in the footage. I counted three in the 3:12 minute piece. Two, were carried by an adult [0:09 & 0:15]. (Accept the child reject the father?) The other was riding a bicycle while photographing?/video calling? from his mobile phone [0:44]. (Bought the phone carried it from Africa?)
I guess late teens (to give benefit of the doubt) refugees heading to the UK would be a less sympathetic headline. Mostly the footage showed adult men.

Jupiter's stunning storm clouds captured in latest Juno probe flyby "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The NASA space probe Juno has once again captured the jaw-dropping beauty of Jupiter in another breathtaking image of the gas giant posted to the space agency's Twitter feed Thursday. The picture, which has been color-enhanced, was snapped by the Juno probe during its 10th flyby of the gas giant on December 16. The spacecraft was positioned just above the planet's south pole, meaning it effectively recorded the different strata of the planet from the bottom up.
